Rests are just a way of notating silence, and it's no different with triplets or sextuplets. Remember, triplets are written with 1 flag or 1 beam (when grouped), and therefore its rest also has 1 flag. Like so..


..you can see the middle triplet has been substituted for a triplet rest.

Sextuplet rests
work in exactly the same way. Because a sextuplet has 2 flags or beams (when grouped together), its rest also has 2 flags, as follows..
