Rudiments Around
The Kit (RATK) is only weeks away
from being released! We are just doing the final editing to
it now. It is shaping up to be the biggest product we've
ever produced - yes, bigger than UDS 2007. The on location
(desert, snow, forest etc) Ezybeats are looking and sounding
fantastic, especially with the new guitar based backing
music (which you get with and without drums).
Today I'm showing you a
sneak peak of the new Ezybeats and footage, then I'm getting
back to the final editing! :)

New Backing Music For RATK Ezybeats

backing tracks for the
RATK DVD have a completely different feel to them than the ones
provided in UDS 2007 and also Funk & Illusion Drumming DVD sets.
Since these previous 2 sets used Ezybeats that were predominantly
backing beats (as opposed to fills),
the focus was largely on locking in the kick drum with the bass
guitar parts. Therefore the tracks were also
quantized to perfect time. They were also very keys heavy.
The new tracks in RATK
sound different. Since the majority
of the tracks are; a bar of time, then a bar of silence (where you
would then play your rudiment fill), there's no need for the music
to be perfectly quantized. Plus they are predominantly guitar
(rhythm, lead and bass) tracks and I think they breathe a bit more
when not quantized.
To add a bit of variety we've written regular
clean, blues and heavy guitar tracks, but also thrown in some
acoustic, banjo and even sitar sounds! Have a listen to some of the
tracks from the Ezybeats above (which you will be getting on a
separate CD With or Without Drums in the RATK DVD set), and you can
also download 2 full tracks to play long with right now!
