1) ANNOUNCEMENTS!

This weekend gone was a flying start for Funk & Illusion Drumming! We took the drums and all the recording / filming gear down to the Great Ocean Rd for two days of fantastic filming. Getting the computers etc down the cliff / rocks / narrow path proved to be a bit of a mission at times, especially at Artillery Rocks on the Sunday, but the Rockyhouse Media team pulled through in fine form! As you'll see in this Big Drum video on Gospel Beats (including brand new Ezybeats with live music), the closed miking audio sounds a lot better.

On the Saturday we filmed the very big Linear Drumming section. The weather started out fine, then gradually clouds of doom started appearing, and the waves started getting pretty angry. Luckily I didn't get soaked and it didn't rain at all! It provided a great backdrop though for the filming, real attitude!

On the Sunday we filmed Gospel Beats, Soul Stomp, Disco Variations, New Jack Swing, Split Beats, 32nd Note Beats and Odd Accent Beats. Sunday was a picture perfect day! And a very nice contrast to the Saturday. I found a nice rock to sit on, set the kit around it, decorated the kit in seaweed and rolled tape.
