ABOUT US - Introduction from Jack Bennett
Icanplaydrums.com was formed by pro Australian drummer Jack Bennett,
and has helped
over 110,000 students right across the globe. As a continual student of the drums and a
dedicated teacher, Jack realized that a number of students find reading
music extremely difficult, even when completely broken down. Instead of
using one drumstick to scroll through the music while his other 3 limbs
played the pattern, Jack decided to use multimedia to help accelerate
the process, developing the "Ezybeat" clips you see in most of his
DVD sets and Digital Download Courses.
Ezybeats are multimedia videos of Jack

Jack Bennett
was born in Melbourne in 1980
and began his professional music career at age 9, singing in numerous productions
with the Australian and Victorian State Opera's, whilst learning piano. Jack then attended specialist
music school Blackburn High in Melbourne and began his obsession with all things drums! In
his final VCE years, Jack aced his music exams and scored one of the
highest Drumkit CAT Exams on record, as well as winning every State and National
award in Australia with the Blackburn High Stage Band (Mt Gambier
Nationals, Sth Street, Melbourne Bands Festival etc). Jack was also
awarded the VCE Music Scholarship, played at the VCE Music Excellence
Concert, The State CAT Show and demonstrated at all VCE Drumkit/Percussion
master classes in '96 & '97 with chief assessors Brenton Mouy and Brian Czempinski.
In 1998 Jack was accepted into
The Victorian College Of The Arts and Box Hill College. In his first year
at Box Hill, Jack won
the open division of the prestigious, "Australia's Best Up and Coming Drummer
Competition" at age 18, whilst studying with some of Australia's most
notable drummers, including Graham Morgan, David Jones, John Corniola
and Danny Fisher.
This led him to touring the world for the next 4 years. Jack has toured with
the national tours of shows, "Grease!" "Shout!",
"Hedwig And The Angry Inch" and "Moonshadows - The Cat Stevens Show". He
has played regularly
with The Australian Showband, No 1 country band "Jetty Road", has
toured to over 20 countries in Europe and China, and played at over
100 venues in Melbourne. He has been a featured artist twice
in national drum magazine, Drumscene (here
and here), and his
DVD/multimedia products have been given 5 star reviews in Rhythm UK magazine
and write ups in The Age Newspaper. Jack also
runs popular Melbourne corporate band, Mercury City -
www.mercurycity.com.au, and he is a licensed C4 personal trainer.
In 2012, 2 of
Jack's private students, Max Dangerfield and
Mia Rowland, came 2nd and 3rd respectively
in the junior division of Australia's Best
Up & Coming Drummer Competition. Video
